Butterbeer Stout« Back to List of Recipes

This awesome Butterbeer will warm the insides of any witch or wizard. This is NOT for the underage wizard!

Ingredients:

Root Beer
Butterscotch Schnapps
Frangelico

Instructions:

Mix one shot of Butterscotch Schnapps and half a shot of Frangelico (a Hazelnut Liqueur) into 12 ounces of iced Root Beer. Typically sweeter root beers like Mug, A&W or store-brand generics work best, as the "sharpness" of brands like Barqs tends to clash with the flavor of the frangelico producing a slightly bitter taste.

"Butterbeer Amber" is the same recipe as above, substituting Cream Soda for Root Beer.

Having experimented with dozens of homemade butterbeer recipes, this is by far the best version I have come across and has become a favorite at all of my parties. The Frangelico adds a richness and complexity to the flavor that the Butterschnapps tends to lack.
