Materials:

Red Heart Super Saver, Carrot #256
Leftovers of Lion Brand Landscapes
Leftovers of Red Heart Super Saver, Burgundy #376
16" US7 (4.5 mm) circular needles

Instructions:

Cast on 90 stitches.

Join in round and knit 3 rounds in garther stich (k 1 row, p 1 row).

Knit 4 rounds.

Eyelet round: *k3 k2tog, k2, k2tog* repeat to end of round.

Note from the crafty witches: A crafter tried this pattern and suggested it would be better to knit the eyelet rounds like this: *k3, k2tog, yarn over, k2tog*

Knit 4 rounds.

Garter stitch for 3 rounds.

Knit 4 rounds.

Eyelet Round.

Knit 4 rounds.

Garter stitch for 3 rounds.

*k7 k2tog* repeat to the end of the round.

*k6 k2tog* repeat to the end of the round.

*k5 k2tog* repeat to the end of the round.

Knit one round.

Eyelet round.

Knit 1 round.

*k4 k2tog* repeat to the end of the round.

*k3 k2tog* repeat to the end of the round.

*k2 k2tog* repeat to the end of the round.

Garter Stitch for 3 rounds.

*k1 k2tog* repeat to the end of the round.

*k2tog* for two rounds.

Finishing
Keep remaining stitches on needle.

Break yarn to bout 10 inches long. Thread it through the remaining stitches twice, tie off.

Weave in ends.

Thread contrasting yarn through eyelets.

Tie a bow on the lowest round, and square knots one wrong side of the hat in the rest.
